Welcome to Baker Elementary School!

A brand-new school year is here, bringing endless opportunities for learning, growth, and discovery. Last year, our scholars learned to take flight by building confidence, developing new skills, and believing in their potential. This year, the journey continues as we embrace our 2026–2027 schoolwide theme:

Explore, Achieve, Leave a Legacy

At Baker Elementary, we believe every scholar has unique talents, limitless potential, and the ability to make a positive impact on the world around them. Throughout the year, we will encourage our students to explore new ideas with curiosity, achieve their personal and academic goals with purpose, and leave a legacy through kindness, leadership, service, and excellence.

Every day is an opportunity for our scholars to discover something new, overcome challenges, strengthen friendships, and grow into confident, compassionate, and responsible leaders. We are committed to creating a school where every student feels safe, valued, connected, and inspired to reach their highest potential.

Our work is guided by the Mountain View School District mission of "Inspiring Each Student to Succeed Every Day." We accomplish this by providing:

  • High-quality instruction that challenges and supports every learner.

  • Targeted interventions that meet students where they are and help them grow academically.

  • Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Capturing Kids' Hearts (CKH) to foster a safe, respectful, responsible, and caring school culture.

  • Social-emotional supports that ensure every child feels seen, heard, and valued.

  • Strong partnerships with families and the community because we believe student success is greatest when we work together.

At Baker, learning extends beyond the classroom. We strive to develop Leadworthy Scholars who are prepared to succeed academically while demonstrating empathy, responsibility, perseverance, integrity, and leadership in everything they do.

We invite our families, staff, and community members to join us on this exciting journey as we explore new possibilities, celebrate achievements, and create a lasting legacy together.

Explore with Curiosity. Achieve with Purpose. Leave a Legacy of Kindness, Leadership, and Excellence.

Together, let's make the 2026–2027 school year one of meaningful learning, lasting memories, and continued success for every Baker Charger!

In partnership,
Leticia McCorkle

  • Here are a few tips to help your child achieve their full potential:

    • Establish a consistent homework routine: Designate a quiet, well-lit space for homework and set a regular time for its completion.
    • Encourage reading: Read with your child daily, even for just 15-20 minutes. This helps develop vocabulary, comprehension, and a love of reading.
    • Limit screen time: Set reasonable limits on television, video games, and other electronic devices, especially during study time.
    • Celebrate effort and progress: Focus on your child's hard work and improvement, rather than just grades.
    • Ensure adequate sleep and nutrition: A well-rested and nourished child is better able to focus and learn.
    • Communicate with the teacher: Use ParentSquare to stay in regular contact with your child's teacher to discuss their progress, address any concerns, and collaborate on strategies to support their learning.
  • ParentSquare
All schools in our district use ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text, and app notifications.

ParentSquare automatically syncs with our student information system to generate an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home. Learn more and get started today by viewing our ParentSquare web page.
