Principal's Message

Mrs. Sylvia Rivera

Mrs. Rivera, Principal
This is my twenty fifth year serving as principal in four of our schools within the Mountain View School District. It is my honor to return to Baker School after sixteen years.  As proud principal of Baker School, I have the opportunity and privilege to observe the hard work that our teachers and support staff put forth on a daily with the quest to provide a high quality instructional program.  I believe children learn best in an environment of caring, sharing, risk taking, laughing, questioning, learning and growing; while simultaneously they actively engage in learning opportunities that encourage consideration for others, compassion, empathy, self-discipline and accountability. More so, I believe that the role of family engagement and involvement is an integral part of in their child’s education; and building trust, relationships and respect between parents and school is unequivocally a priority. It brings me great pleasure and a sense of pride when parents, employees within the District, community members and guests comment on the warmth, friendly demeanor, high level of staff professionalism  and the positive school spirit that permeates throughout our school.

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year. GO BAKER CHARGERS!
